Phil H. Nguyen, MD

I have been going to Happy Clinic for several years now, mainly for Botox but also occasionally for fillers. Dr. Phil has always met all of my needs, and gladly takes the time to answer questions or offer suggestions. Their philosophy is all about soft, natural effects, which is exactly what I'm looking for...

About Dr. Phil

Started Happy Clinic® in 2001

Dr. Phil Hong Nguyen has the honor of being a national speaker for Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, Juvederm, Kybella, and Coolsculpt. Physicians and clinicians across the country come to Happy Clinic Denver to train under Dr. Phil on the latest aesthetic techniques. He also is the education director for the American MedAesthetic Association. Dr. Phil has been a licensed physician in the state of Colorado for the past 20 years.  He also holds licenses in the states of Indiana and California. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1998.  He has been doing cosmetic/ aesthetic procedures since 2001.  Dr. Nguyen prides himself in being an artist and minored in Fine Arts Studio for his undergraduate studies.  He paints, draws and sculpts. Thus, he naturally gravitated to the cosmetic/ aesthetic field of medicine. Dr. Nguyen trained in family practice and did his internship at the University of Colorado Swedish Medical Center.

Dr. Phil takes great pride in giving his patients a natural looking appearance, and has had over 16 years experience performing injectable procedures. He personally sees about 1000 faithful patients a month, making him one of the most experienced and sought after cosmetic physicians in the country. "We are all just a few millimeters away from looking like Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt," and "Anyone can stick a needle into you, but it takes an artist to make it look good!" are two of his favorite quotes.

Dr. Phil speaks English and Vietnamese fluently, and knows enough of Spanish, French, Thai and Mandarin to be dangerous. He is a world traveler and foodie, with his favorite place to visit being Southeast Asia. Dr. Phil is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

How I focus on you as a patient:

1 — Artistry

Way before medical school, one of my first loves was art. You can experience the magic behind someone else’s art with your interpretation, but I enjoyed the power of being behind the brush and in front of a canvas. Even though it’s with a needle instead of a paintbrush, I am very thankful that this continues today with Happy Clinic. You have a unique canvas, and my main goal is to take your goals and my aesthetic expertise to enhance those features that make you unique, whether it be a subtle change or a complete makeover.

2 — Expertise

During my earlier years of opening up my practice in 1990, it took me literature after literature, triumphs after errors, and learning from others to figure out the best techniques to give Happy Clinic® patients the best and happiest results. Practice indeed makes perfect, and I have had the opportunity to perfect my skills to build your trust while in my chair so that you can have a picture-perfect outcome.

3 — Impact

In everything I seek to do in life, one of my goals has been to leave an impact. I remember being younger and having those days that were “not-so-great” made better by people who exhibited the uttermost kindness— these were individuals who made the most impact on me. Over time I learned the importance of impacting others by always choosing kindness and ensuring that I give you the opportunity to look and feel your best after leaving my chair.
